5.)Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Jason Headings
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Ramon runs into the ring and wastes no time hammering away on Diesel with right hands and kicks. Razor looks for the Razors Edge but is backdropped by Diesel. Ramon gets up quickly and knocks Diesel to the floor with a right hand. Diesel drops Ramon throat first across the top rope from the apron and drops the champ with a short arm clothesline. Diesel drives Ramon down to the mat with a side slam for a near fall. Ramon is dropped face first onto the top turnbuckle and Diesel jumps down across Ramon’s back. Diesel is focusing his attack on Ramon’s back. Ramon lifts Diesel up with the big man on his shoulders as Diesel had a neck vice on the champ. Ramon drops Diesel with an electric chair slam! Ramon goes for the cover but Diesel kicks out at two! Razor comes off the middle rope to plant Diesel with a bulldog but can’t put Diesel away. Shawn Michaels is punched off the apron and Razor runs into a knee lift in the corner. Michaels is knocked off the apron again this time by Diesel on accident as he took the turnbuckle pad off. Diesel sends Ramon into the exposed buckle and connects with the powerbomb to win the title! (**3/4. A rather solid bout here to give Diesel the championship. These two typically work well in the ring, from what I’ve seen, and this match for television standards was nicely done.)
2. A video promoting the debut of Duke “The Dumpster” Droese is aired again. He calls out a few heels on the WWF roster and says he is coming to clean up the garbage.
3. Jerry Lawler calls out Dink for a special interview. Dink is dressed up in a baseball outfit. Lawler doesn’t find it funny what Dink and Doink did to Jeff Jarrett recently. Lawler is insulting Dink and his height. Doink ends up coming out and has something in the box. Doink has a pie and Lawler is begging off. Doink has two pies he puts them right in Dink’s face! Doink sprays Dink with silly string. It ends up not being Doink after all and instead it was Jeff Jarrett dressed up as Doink. Jarrett cuts a promo saying he was going to take care of the situation. Jarrett says he can be the best clown of them all.
Final Thoughts:
A good episode this week as well. A title change after a solid match between Diesel and Razor, and a fine little segment to hype up a Jarrett/Doink feud. Hopefully the string of good shows will continue as we head to the King of the Ring.
