2.)Jeff Jarrett defeated Sparky Plugg
3.)The Headshrinkers defeated Phil Apollo & Emilio Ulcia
4.)the 1-2-3 Kid defeated Chris Hamrick
5.)Yokozuna defeated Terry Stubbs
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Jerry Lawler puts himself over the WWF World Champion saying that he is still the only real King and it will be a matter of time for Owen Hart to pin Bret Hart for the championship.
2. This must be the return of Koko B. Ware or something as he gets a good reception from the crowd and even got an entrance. IRS controls Koko early on with a scoop slam and taunts the fans. Koko leapfrogs IRS and slams IRS before sending him to the floor with a dropkick. IRS avoided a springboard cross body attempt by Koko. Naturally, IRS provides us with some boring offense. It’s just a headlock and basic rest holds mostly. Koko misses a splash in the corner and IRS connects with a snap suplex. IRS locks in an STF and wins the match. (*. Yeah, that was quite boring and uninteresting.)
3. Jarrett attacks Plugg before the bell and knocks him to the floor off the middle rope. Jarrett drops Plugg throat first across the guard railing and rams him head first into the ring steps! Plugg can’t get anything going as he is sent into the ring post face first as well. Jeff comes off the middle rope to hit a fist drop and hits a snap suplex for a two count. Plugg tries to battle back as he drops Jarrett with a back suplex. Plugg comes off the ropes to hit a crossbody but Jarrett quickly kicks Plugg to regain control. Sparky counters a suplex with one of his own. Plugg punches Jarrett in midair as he jumped off the middle rope. Plugg has gotten a second wind and dropkicks Jeff. Plugg misses a middle rope elbow drop. Jarrett knees a charging Plugg and rolls Sparky up with his feet on the ropes to win the match. Wait, Dink has come out and tells the referee what happened. Jarrett attacks Plugg and goes after Dink on the floor. Doink appears and dumps water on Jarrett! I guess the finish stands for Jarrett. (**1/4. It was alright, but it was very similar to their match last week. Since it was rather similar, it hurt the rating.)
4. The debut of the Heartbreak Hotel is up next. Michaels tells Razor Ramon that Diesel is waiting for Ramon to respond to his challenge. WWF World Champion Bret Hart makes his way out to be the first guest on the talk show. Michaels brings up Bret losing to Owen Hart at WrestleMania X. Bret says it was just one match that he lost to Owen, but the next time they meet in the ring he will win because the championship will be on the line. Bret says he isn’t going to avoid any challenges and will defend against anyone and everyone. Michaels thinks Hart is just full of excuses as the segment ends.
Final Thoughts:
An average episode this week. I was expecting something big on the Heartbreak Hotel but it literally offered nothing new to the WWF World Championship scene. The featured matches were uninteresting and didn’t help the show. A disappointing episode in my opinion.
Thanks for reading.
