Date: 9/3/1994
From: Portland, ME
Matches:
1.)Lex Luger defeated An unknown jobber
2.)Bob Backlund defeated Bert Centeno
3.)Owen Hart defeated Scott Taylor
4.)The Smoking Gunns fought the Heavenly Bodies to a no contest
5.)the 1-2-3 Kid defeated Roy Raymond
6.)IRS defeated Phil Apollo
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. The show opens up with Todd Pettengill talking about Tatanka turning heel on Lex Luger and America by joining the Million Dollar Corporation. We were tricked!
2. By the way, the next three episodes are probably not going to feature any huge developments since the shows were taped prior to SummerSlam taking place.
3. The Heavenly Bodies attacked the Smoking Gunns prior to the bell. Jimmy Del Ray and Tom Pritchard have wings on their jackets but Cornette considers them to be men anyway. They toss the Smoking Gunns to the floor and wear their hats to taunt them. The hats are then stomped on but the Gunns get up and rip the wings off of the Heavenly Bodies jackets! The Gunns clean house and tear apart the wings. All four men are brawling in the ring and on the floor. It looks like we got ourselves a tag team feud.
Final Thoughts:
The show mainly highlighted what happened at SummerSlam and there weren’t any angle developments, aside from Gunns/Bodies. I actually thought that was done nicely and wasn’t uninteresting. But, the show is lacking any real importance.
Thanks for reading.
