Extreme Championship Wrestling presents Hardcore TV
Date: 6/27/1995
From: Philadelphia, PA
Matches:
1.) Tommy Dreamer defeated Vampire Warrior
2.) 911 defeated Jim Steele
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Much like the other episodes over the past several weeks, the matches are again from the Barbed Wire, Hoodies and Chokeslams event. So, you can check out the review of the matches there.
2.) Jim Steele competed in WCW in 1993 and 1994, but didn’t last very long. I’d imagine he was brought in for the heat associated with WCW wrestlers, at the time.
3.) ECW World Champion The Sandman cuts a promo backstage in a dark room while smoking a cigarette. Sandman talks about igniting stream fever into the company and put out Shane Douglas’ fire. Sandman knows that it is not a fluke that he is the champion. Sandman notes he is a drunk who beat a guy who is a professor and beat his best friend in the same night, which wasn’t all that hard. Sandman likes to drink beer and swing his big stick. He is starting to like being the ECW World Champion. Sandman says people are going to have to get really extreme to take the championship from him now.
4.) We hear cop sirens as New Jack and Mustafa cut a promo on Public Enemy while standing on a car. They say they are going to rule ECW.
Final Thoughts:
A decent promo by Sandman who is playing the cocky drunk very well. Aside from that, there isn’t anything here to care about.
