World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date: 7/22/1995
From: Bethlehem, PA
Matches:
1.) Jacob & Eli Blue defeated 1-2-3 Kid and Savio Vega
2.) Rad Radford defeated Scott Taylor
3.) Skip defeated Russ Greenberg
4.) Adam Bomb defeated Kenny Kendall
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Vega hits a leaping cross body and a dropkick on Eli in the opening moments of the match. Kid comes off the top rope to deliver a double axe handle. Kid goes to the floor and shoves Uncle Zeb before returning to the ring to be met with a right hand. Eli rams Kid into the corner back first and Kid is upside down for a moment. Eli misses a splash in the corner and Vega gets the tag hitting a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Eli knocks Vega to the floor with a big boot and Jacob nails Vega with another big boot on the floor. Eli backdrops Vega but only manages a near fall on the cover attempt. Jacob gets the tag and works over the back of Vega. Savio tries to make a comeback but is stopped with a knee to the back. Kid is knocked off the apron by Jacob and Jacob hits a snap suplex on Vega for a two count. Vega knocks Jacob off the top rope but is held by Eli. Jacob comes off the middle rope but misses Vega and hits Eli instead. Kid gets the hot tag and cleans house on the brothers. Kid nearly pins Eli with a sunset flip but only got a two count. Kid hits a spinning heel kick on Jacob but Uncle Zeb gets in the ring and leaps off the middle rope to knee drop Kid! Eli has the cover and pins Kid. (**. The victory is a big one for the Eli Brothers getting a win over established workers in the WWF. It had some decent action and there weren’t any lull moments. Also considering the Blu Brothers are on the next pay per view, the victory needed to occur, really.)
2.) A vignette of Fatu making a difference is aired. Fatu is a motivational guy nowadays, by the way.
3.) A vignette of Dr. Isaac Yankeem working on the teeth of a young kid is aired while Jerry Lawler cut a promo on Bret Hart.
Final Thoughts:
Not a horrible episode of Superstars with the feature match being a surprisingly decent match. The squash matches involved some good workers, with Rad Radford looking good, too.
Thanks for reading.
