Written by: Bob Colling
World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date: 10/4/1986
From: Baltimore, MD
Matches:
1.) Koko B. Ware defeated Randy Barber
2.) Sika defeated Mario Mancini
3.) The Honkytonk Man defeated Ron Shaw
4.) Paul Orndorff defeated Don Hastings
5.) WWF Intercontinental Champion Randy Savage defeated Dan McGuire
6.) Killer Bees defeated The Moondogs
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Koko B. Ware shared some pre tape comments before his match about flying into the WWF. He’s prepared to rise up the ranks.
2.) WWF Update with Mean Gene focuses on Hillbilly Jim who was playing his guitar recently, which he got from Hulk Hogan, apparently.
3.) Mr. Fuji shared some pre tape comments during Honky’s squash match. Fuji puts down Honky for how he dresses and says he dresses beautifully. Nobody will put their hands on him. For being a good guy, Honky isn’t getting a positive reaction. It’s actually really clear that he’s getting mostly booed.
4.) Paul Orndorff continues to use WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan’s theme music to taunt the fans. We hear pre tape comments from Orndorff who claimed that the music was written for him because he is the real American. He is confident that Hogan will no longer use the music.
5.) Roddy Piper returned to the Flower Shop and was on crutches with his injured left knee taped up. The area is still destroyed so he’s revisiting the scene of the crime. Piper says he can’t be kept down and goes back to destroying other parts of the Flower Shop. Piper just limped away to end the segment.
6.) Superstar Billy Graham shared pre tape comments during Macho Man’s match. Graham is making it clear he’s coming after the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
7.) Jesse Ventura interviewed WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan regarding Paul Orndorff. Hogan thinks it is a crock for people to think Orndorff is the Real American. Hogan isn’t afraid of Orndorff and says you gotta be a big man to reach the top. Hogan says he’s going to be the judge, jury and executioner.
8.) After the Moondogs lost the match to the Killer Bees, they shove each other showing some tension between the two.
Final Thoughts:
There wasn’t a whole lot going on here but they touched upon a few feuds. This felt like a filler week for the most part. Hogan/Orndorff is going on strong and they’ve been giving Piper/Adonis a lot of airtime lately. I really don’t have interest in seeing Graham battle Savage for the IC Championship. Honky isn’t over as a face so he needs to change his attitude real quick.
Thanks for reading.
