Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Jacob tosses Ramon down to the mat to show his strength. Jacob continues by shoving Ramon into the corner. Ramon drop toe holds Jacob to the mat and keeps arm control for a few moments. Ramon shoulder blocks Jacob several times and wrenches the arm a few times. Ramon takes Jacob over with a slam. Jacob decks Ramon with a clothesline before tagging in Eli. Eli delivers a strike the midsection followed by a strike. Eli sends Ramon hard into the corner back first a few times before delivering another clothesline. Eli puts Ramon in a tree of woe stomping away on Ramon before tagging in Jacob. Ramon knee lifts Eli and they both go down to the mat. Kid gets tagged in and kicks Eli several times. Eli stops Kid’s momentum with a slam for a near fall. Jacob returns to the match and they backdrop Kid. WWF Tag Team Champions the Smoking Gunns are shown watching on the aisle. Kid tries to fight back with strikes out of the corner, but Eli stops Kid in the corner with a side slam for a near fall.
Eli back elbows Kid to the mat to control the contest. Eli knee lifts Kid to the mat. Kid nearly wins with an inside cradle, but the referee was distracted. Jacob slams Kid, but misses an elbow drop. Kid crawls to the corner, but Ramon is knocked off the apron by Jacob. Kid is worked over in the corner as the show goes to commercial.
Kid fights back with strikes to Jacob, but Eli chokes Kid from the apron while the referee is distracted by Ramon. Kid delivers a spin kick to the gut, but is knocked down to the mat. Eli drops Kid with a swinging neckbreaker. Jacob tags into the match and misses a splash in the corner leading to a near fall for Kid. Eli enters and double team shoulder blocks Kid. Eli keeps Kid on the mat with a nerve hold. Kid dropkicks Eli away and tags in Ramon. Ramon hammers away on Eli with right hands. Ramon knocks Jacob off the apron. Ramon hits a middle rope back suplex on Eli and plays to the crowd. Ramon tries for the Razors Edge, but Eli backdrops free. Eli accidentally big boots Jacob, but nails Ramon on a second attempt. Eli clubs on Ramon, but Kid hits a missile dropkick allowing Ramon to get the pin. After the match, the Blu Brothers attack Kid and Ramon. Ramon cleans house and Kid delivers a spinning heel kick. Ramon clotheslines Jacob over the top to the floor to end the segment. (**. Honestly, the Blu Brothers didn’t look too bad in there and they provided some decent offense to hold interest during their heat segments. Kid and Ramon going over makes the most sense considering they are challenging for the tag titles. This was a fine TV tag match.)
2.) Jim Ross interviewed WWF World Champion Diesel backstage. Diesel dismisses the thought of a losing streak and tells Ross to watch what he’s about to do tonight.
3.) Mercy shakes hands with Diesel and they backoff. Diesel backs Mercy into a corner and cleanly backs away. Mercy backs Diesel into the corner and they trade strikes. Mercy gets a few strikes in but runs into a big boot. Diesel knee lifts Mercy in the corner and hits a splash. Diesel continues with knee lifts. British Bulldog comes out to the aisle and Diesel attacks Bulldog. Diesel has been counted out. Shawn Michaels and Dean Douglas came out to break things up. Diesel returns to the ring and Mercy hammers away on Diesel. Diesel clotheslines Mercy and hits the Jackknife powerbomb. Diesel continues with right hands on the mat until Shawn Michaels pulls Diesel off. Diesel breaks free and attacks Mercy again. (DUD. This was just to add to the Diesel/Bulldog feud heading into the PPV.)
4.) Ahmed Johnson cut a promo about honor. His mother going to work a mininum wage job despite knowing she’s worth more than that. Ahmed suggests fans thank their moms for bringing them to the shows while struggling.
5.) WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels promises to catch up with Dean Douglas sooner or later and for sure at IYH.
Final Thoughts:
Another decent episode for Superstars as the tag match was a solid match. Blu Brothers looked the best that I’ve ever seen them and I honestly never like their work. I like the build for IYH continuing on Superstars as it keeps the show feeling important.
Thanks for reading.
