Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Vince McMahon, Mr. Perfect, Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan and Hillbilly Jim are on the panel. McMahon promotes the title match between Randy Savage and IRS. Heenan thinks that Savage is afraid of Ric Flair. Heenan wonders why Savage hasn’t signed a match for Flair. McMahon notes that he has, but he takes on all the challengers.

2.) Kato and Butch kickoff the match with Kato backing Butch against the ropes, but taunts him with a bow. Butch plays to the crowd for a pop. Luke enters and holds Kato to allow Butch to deliver a strike. Kato ducks a double clothesline, but gets his butt bitten. Kato is nailed by a double clothesline. Hardy enters the match, but is met with a double boot and a double clothesline. Bushwhackers play to the crowd for another pop. Butch drops Hardy with a clothesline and a stomp on the apron. Kato enters the match, but Luke legally tags into the match, as well. Kato accidentally decks Hardy off the apron. Butch holds Kato from the apron and Luke almost hits Butch. They stop and nail Kato with a double clothesline. Kato drops Butch with an atomic drop and delivers a strike to the face. Kato stomps on Butch several times followed by a chop. Hardy enters the match to deliver several strikes in the corner. Butch decks Hardy with a clothesline and does a taunt. Luke enters the match and back elbows Hardy to the mat. Hardy is nailed by a battering ram to the midsection. Bushwhackers followup with a double gut buster to win the match. (*. I only covered this match knowing that it was an extended squash match because the match is listed as going over five minutes. There is no surprise that Hardy took the pin here since Kato is slightly more than an enhancement guy at this point. Bushwhackers continue to generate a good crowd reaction, but I continue to dread their matches.)

3.) The panel discuss a match between Shawn Michaels and Virgil because it happened prior to WrestleMania VIII. Heenan says that Warrior is going get his nose broken by Sid Justice just like Virgil did.

4.) The panel discuss the fact that it is tax time and it’s fitting for WWF World Champion Randy Savage to defend against IRS.

Savage delivers a right hand to stagger IRS, but misses a splash onto the ropes. IRS stomps Savage and hits a leaping clothesline for a near fall. Jimmy Hart gets on the apron with the briefcase, but Hart hits IRS on accident. Savage decks Hart off the apron and goes to the top rope hitting a flying elbow drop for the win to retain the title. (*1/2. The closing moments of the match got the crowd to react well, but any time IRS is given the task to carry a match in-ring it’s a tough one to get through. Savage is great and I can get through any Savage match even with a limited challenger.)

7.) Mr. Fuji grabs the urn from Paul Bearer. Berzerker hits Bearer with his shield and whacks Undertaker with the shield a couple of times. Berzerker tries to murder Undertaker with his sword, but misses and the sword remains stuck in the mat. Berzerker clotheslines Taker to the floor where Taker grabs Fuji. However. Berzerker axe handles Taker from the apron. Berzerker sends Taker into the post and ring steps. Berzerker pulls off the protective mats on the floor and hits a piledriver on the concrete floor. Bearer has the urn and Undertaker sits up. Berzerker can’t believe it as Fuji backs Berzerker away towards the backstage area. (NR. There’s no match here, but I liked the angle.)

8.) The panel talks about what would have happened if Undertaker had not missed the sword. They also talk about how Undertaker has never shown pain.

9.) Martel backs Santana against the ropes, but cleanly backs off and taunts the crowd. Martel gets control with a top wrist lock, but Santana breaks free to put a hammerlock on Martel. Martel trips Santana, but does a cartwheel to avoid a monkey flip attempt. Martel knee lifts Santana a few times and rams Santana into the corner. Santana rams Martel into the corner and continues with right hands. Santana ducks a leapfrog and stomps Martel on the face causing Martel to bail to the floor. Santana tries to grab Martel, but Martel makes it over to Arrogance in the corner and hits Santana with it to cause the disqualification. After the match, Santana scares Martel from the ring. (*1/2. The crowd wasn’t all that lively for the match. i thought the action was okay, but it had a flat finish.)

10.) Next week, High Energy (Owen Hart & Koko B. Ware) make their debut.

11.) Bobby Heenan says that Sid Justice is stalking Ultimate Warrior and is waiting for the right moment to strike. Heenan says that Warrior is too dumb to be afraid of Sid, but isn’t too dumb to know pain.

Final Thoughts:
An overall fine episode for Prime Time as there were several feature matches and a good angle between Undertaker and Berzerker. It’s likely that there will not be major angle advancements until early June for the SummerSlam push, if I had to guess.
