Matches:

2.) WCW United States Champion Rick Rude defeated Ian Weston
3.) Larry Zbyszko defeated Todd Champion
4.) Johnny B. Badd defeated Firebreaker Chip
5.) WCW Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton defeated Tom Zenk & Marcus Alexander Bagwell
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Jim Ross hosts the program and runs down the card. We’ve got a tag title match and Missy Hyatt promises to prove that Paul E. Dangerously was the masked ninja at Superbrawl II.
2.) El Gigante and PN News easily won their enhancement match when Gigante wins the match with the claw on Nelson. After the match, Gigante dances a bit with News.
3.) We see footage from WCW World Champion Sting’s interview after Superbrawl. It’s the same footage from the previous week, but they didn’t show the brawling segment with WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and the Dangerous Alliance.
4.) WCW United States Champion Rick Rude insults the fans before his enhancement match. Rude easily wins his match with the Rude Awakening.
5.) Zbyszko prevails over Champion with a brainbuster for the clean win.
6.) Johnny B. Badd picks up the win over Chip with a rollup for the clean win. Chip fell on a springboard attempt in the corner and the finish may have been abrupt.
7.) Missy Does The Mail is next hosted by Missy Hyatt. Hyatt talks about trying to interview Ricky Steamboat, but she admits there was an issue with language with the ninja kicking her out. Madusa walks down the hallway and tries to seduce the ninja so that she can see Steamboat. Madusa slaps the ninja and gets chased by the ninja. Hyatt returned to Steamboat’s locker room door and Steamboat walked to the ring with the ninja. (I feel like it’s obvious the ninja is Dangerously.) Of course, during the US Championship match the ninja nailed Steamboat with a cellphone. Hyatt takes credit for blowing the story open when she saw Dangerously dressed as the ninja. Hyatt announces that Dangerously is being forced to compete in some wrestling matches due to the WCW officials being pissed off. Hyatt has no desire to return to the ringside area as a manager.
8.) Anderson and Bagwell kickoff the tag team main event. Bagwell sidesteps Anderson trying to take him down. They trade hammerlock control until Bagwell slams Anderson and scares Anderson into the corner causing Dangerously to ask for a timeout. Eaton tags into the match and kicks Bagwell in the midsection. Bagwell gains wrist control and tags in Zenk. Zenk delivers a double elbow on Eaton for a one count. Zenk gets wrist control on Eaton, but Eaton backs Zenk into a corner and punches Zenk in the corner a few times. Eaton pummels Zenk in the corner. Zenk monkey flips Eaton out of the corner followed by a dropkick. Anderson tags into the match to continue the match. Zenk regroups getting advice from Bagwell. Anderson shoulder rams Zenk in the corner several times and delivers a strike. Anderson misses a clothesline and Zenk superkicks Anderson into the corner followed by right hands. Anderson tries for an atomic drop, but Zenk avoids it and hits a crossbody. Zenk decks Anderson to the floor after Bagwell delivered a strike from the apron. The tag champs regroup with Dangerously on the floor.
Anderson returns to the ring against Bagwell. Bagwell kicks Anderson several times followed by right hands to knock Anderson to the mat and Anderson goes to the corner to regroup. Eaton slaps Bagwell, but Bagwell responds with a slap as well. Eaton backs Bagwell into a corner, but Bagwell punches Eaton away. Eaton backs Bagwell into a corner and Zenk strikes Eaton in the ribs. Zenk sends Eaton into the corner, but misses a splash. Eaton throws Zenk through the ropes to the floor. Anderson slams Zenk’s arm over the railing. Eaton plants Zenk down with an arm breaker and keeps a hammerlock on Zenk. Anderson tags in and stomps on Zenk’s left am. Anderson works over Zenk’s left arm and keeps control in the middle of the ring. Zenk tries to break free and tag in Bagwell, but Eaton enters and prevents the tag. Eaton scoop slams Zenk. Eaton keeps Zenk on the mat with an arm bar. Anderson holds Eaton’s hand from the apron, but they can’t get a submission.
Bagwell gets the hot tag and cleans house with scoop slams. Bagwell rams the champs into each other face first and pummels Eaton in the corner. Bagwell kicks Eaton and hits a fisherman suplex, but Anderson kicks Bagwell in the kidneys as the referee was distracted. Eaton covers Bagwell and wins the match. After the match, Anderson decks Zenk on the back of the head with the cellphone. Bagwell is held on the mat and Dangerously whips Bagwell with his belt a few times. The Steiner Brothers storm the ring and make the save. Scott backdrops Eaton and Rick clotheslines Anderson. Scott deliver a tilt a whirl slam on Eaton. Zbyszko and Austin enter the ring and attack the Steiner’s. Anderson plants Rick with a DDT and Austin slams Scott. The segment ends there as Eaton climbed to the top rope. (**1/4. They got plenty of time here and I thought they did a good job of filling the time given. Bagwell has a little more value than Zenk, so having Bagwell lose here helps the Alliance more than if Zenk lost. It’s the little things in booking that makes a difference.)
Final Thoughts:
A solid episode this week with a ton of wrestling and a good enough main event. WCW 1-hour programs are the easiest shows to get through no matter what.
Thanks for reading.
