Morton gets involved and is tossed to the floor. Rick nails DDP with a top rope bulldog for the win. (*. A dominate win for the Steiner’s. DDP and Morton did fine playing their roles and it’s clear they aren’t a priority for WCW if they could have used any jobber guy here.)

7.) Big Josh has a message for the high school kids and he warns them to not use steroids. Josh admits he’s made the mistake and says it changed his mood and encourages them to do it naturally.

8.) Cactus and JYD trade strikes with JYD getting the advantage with a headbutt. They continue to trade strikes. Jack stomps JYD on the mat as the fans express support for JYD. Cactus continues to stomp JYD, but JYD headbutts Cactus to the floor. JYD goes to the floor, but Cactus eye rakes JYD. JYD rams Cactus into the railing chest first and the match ends in a double count-out. After the match, JYD continues to headbutt Cactus and crawls on the mat to headbutt Cactus to the floor. (NR. You read it correctly. There is not one singular wrestling move.)

9.) Erich Bischoff hosts WCW Magazine. Bischoff promotes the WCW Tag Team Championship match between the Dangerous Alliance and the Steiner Brothers taking place inside a steel cage. We see footage of the last time they wrestled each other in the ring. During the bout, Anderson tossed powder into Rick’s eyes and they saved their titles at Superbrawl II. WCW Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton cut a promo about their business going commercialized. Anderson says people thought they were too plain. Anderson notes they are still standing while those people are gone. Eaton provided nothing in the promo. Steiner Brothers chimed in a pre-tape comment. Scott says the champs are in their world and it’s not a fun place to be. Rick talks about a angel and a devil on opposite shoulders. Rick thinks it is all fun and games for them in the cage. 10.) Footage of Ricky Steamboat being interviewed by Tony Schiavone recently is shown. Steamboat tells Schiavone about pain and his recent injuries. Steamboat says the biggest pain he’s ever had to suffer in his life is watching his 4-year old son ask what happened to his face and ask who did to him. Steamboat warns Rick Rude about the pain that he’s going to experience and he’s going to win the WCW United States Championship. Zbyszko holds Garvin, but Madusa kicks Zbyszko on accident. Garvin hits a back suplex and pins Zbyszko despite it seeming as if Eaton had stopped the cover. (*. What a bizarre booking choice this is as we’re only a few weeks away from War Games and the top heel team is losing to the Freebirds of all teams? I mean, I understand Madusa getting involved cost them the match, but it’s still a baffling direction.)

12.) Brickhouse Bonus with Jack Brickhouse is up next. Brickhouse talks about the WCW Tag Team Championship matches and suggests they are having perhaps some of the best matches ever. Brickhouse puts over both teams. Brickhouse notes that neither team is intimidated by the other. Brickhouse suggests we enjoy watching two of the best teams battle it out.

Armstrong gets a headlock on Austin, but Austin breaks free and misses a wild clothesline. Armstrong hits a crossbody for a two count and takes Austin down with an arm drag. Bagwell tags in and axe handles Austin off the middle rope. Austin kicks Bagwell and tries for a supex, but Bagwell counters with a suplex of his own for a two count. Austin eye rakes Bagwell and clubs Bagwell over the back before tagging in Anderson. Anderson strikes Bagwell and shoulder blocks Bagwell. Anderson tags into the match and stomps Zenk on the mat. Anderson chokes Zenk on the mat. Zenk avoids a splash off the middle rope and kicks Anderson a couple of times. Austin enters and strikes Zenk in the corner. Austin knee lifts Zenk in the corner and clubs Zenk over the back. Austin misses a somersault shoulder ram hitting the ring post. Zenk climbs to the top and missile dropkicks Austin. Zenk crawls to his corner and tags in Bagwell. Bagwell hammers away on Anderson and hits a powerslam, but Rude makes the save. All six men are in the ring. Anderson plants Bagwell with a spinebuster as the other man are on the floor brawling. Anderson drives Bagwell to the mat with a front suplex for the win. (**1/4. A solid six man tag match. I was a bit surprised that Anderson won with a front suplex instead of the spinebuster or even a DDT. Makes you wonder why the Freebirds won earlier in the show against Eaton and Zbyszko. They must be on the bottom of the list for the Alliance.)

15.) Eric Bischoff hosts WCW Magazine once again. Bischoff promotes the UIC Pavilion show and continues to promote WCW World Champion Sting defending against Vader. We get pre-tape comments from Vader who says he’s Sting’s worst nightmare and he’s going to be the next champion. Harley Race wants Sting to think about what Vader is talking about.

Final Thoughts:
The May 3rd show seems to be a show that I’d absolutely be buying tickets for at this point. As for this episode, this was an average show at best. Scotty Flamingo needs to not rap as they came across a bit cringe.
