Angle Developments/Notes:
1. The program starts off with the OVW Southern Tag Team Champions the Thrillseekers taking on the Heartbreakers in a non-title match. Antonio slams Cappotelli to start the match but misses a leg drop. Cappotelli delivers a leg drop of his own and Jeter tagged in to hit a double axe handle. Romeo is tagged in and is blinded by his own headband until he realizes he can remove it. The Thrillseekers baseball slide the Heartbreakers on the floor. The referee is distracted when Cappotelli is viciously dropped throat first across the top rope. Romeo yanks Jeter off the apron to prevent the tag from happening. Cappotelli continues to be worked on but avoids Antonio in the corner and makes the tag. Jeter cleans house hitting Antonio with a spin kick for a near fall. Jeter super kicks Antonio but the referee is distracted. Mo Green enters the ring and the referee calls for the bell. After the match, the Thrillseekers taunt Mo Green by doing his dance.
2. Steve Lewington meets Mike Mondo up next. Lewington controls Mondo early on hitting a cross body. Mondo went to the floor where Mondo avoided a knee lift and Lewington hit a pillar. Mondo wraps Lewington’s leg around the ring post and wraps it around the post numerous times. Mondo puts a figure four on Lewington around the ring post! Lewington fights back and nearly wins following an arm trapped neck breaker. They end up colliding heads and Lewington reverses a pin with a crucifix pin for the win.
3. It’s the first of two main events. OVW Heavyweight Champion Elijah Burke teams up with Mark Henry to take on Matt Morgan and Vengeance. Burke hammers away on Vengeance early on hitting a flying forearm smash as well. Morgan missed an elbow drop but caught Burke only for the champ to break free and tag in Henry. Henry drops Morgan with a clothesline and scoop slam. Burke got a two count following a top rope elbow drop. Burke misses a dropkick and is catapulted over the top to the floor. Vengeance big splashes Burke in the corner. Burke blocks a smash by getting his boot up. Henry gets the tag and cleans house. Henry splashes Vengeance but is hurt due to his chest protector. Burke sends Morgan to the floor and pins Vengeance following a top rope sunset flip. After the match, Lance Cade runs out to beat down Burke and Henry with Morgan and Vengeance. However, Lance Storm runs out with a kendo stick to make the save!
4. MNM bail from the ring when the Dudley Boys enter to a big ovation. D-Von and Matthews start the contest exchanging hammerlocks until Matthews bails from the ring. D-Von scoop slams Matthews for a near fall. Bubba tags in but Matthews goes to his corner to tag in Nitro, but he refuses to tag in. Bubba power slams Matthews and Nitro finally tags in. Bubba messes with Nitro on a test of strength before delivering a neck breaker and a snap suplex. Nitro distracts the referee so that Melina and Matthews can ram Bubba into the ring post groin first. Bubba has been doubled teamed for several moments. Bubba stops Nitro with a spear. D-Von gets the tag and cleans house with clothesline and a slam on Matthews. Bubba enters and scoop slams Nitro to allow D-Von to hit the What’s Up! D-Von goes to the floor to grab a table. Nitro baseball slides the table into D-Von. Bubba hit’s the Bubba Bomb on Matthews! Bubba has Melina but Matthews hits Melina on accident! Matthew low blows Bubba but D-Von enters to make the save. Matthews misses a chair shot but the referee takes the chair away from Bubba. Matthews nails Bubba with brass knuckles to win the match! After the match, the Dudley Boys get some level of revenge by driving Matthews through a table with a 3-D to close the program!
Final Thoughts:
I thought this was an enjoyable show as it mainly focused on wrestling. The main event was a really good match and just proves that MNM is ready to head to the big leagues. It was an all around find episode with the main event being the best segment.
