TNA Victory Road 2012 Predictions!

Total Non-Stop Action returns to pay per view tonight with Victory Road. It’s the last pay per view event before Lockdown in April. It looks to be a rather good card which is highlighted by TNA World Champion Bobby Roode taking on Sting in a no holds barred match. It’s time to run down the card and predict the event!

Open Challenge: TNA Television Championship
[champion] Robbie E. defends against TBA

I’m figuring that Robbie will defend against Alex Shelley, Devon or Doug Williams. Out of those three I’d hope for it to be Shelley, but it will likely be Devon. Anyway, I think Robbie keeps the title with help from Rob Terry. I don’t have much interest in this character anymore and feel as if Robbie E. (Rob Eckos) either needs to be fired or get a better gimmick.

Knockouts Championship:
[champion] Gail Kim vs. Madison Rayne

The way this match has been promoted is fine by me, but I don’t believe there will be a title change here. It would appear to me that it’s likely going to be Kim vs. Velvet Sky at Lockdown and that’s where the title may change hands. There is no need for a switch here as Kim has been having a decent run as champion thus far.

X-Division Championship:
[champion] Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion

Another match where it’s a heel wrestler against a heel wrestler. I can’t imagine the fans being all that interested in this match since both men are hated. Aries has been the most entertaining part of Impact the last several weeks and has been making a case to be elevated up the card. Still, Aries should retain here and head into Lockdown with the precious championship around his waist.

World Tag Team Championships:
[champions] Samoa Joe & Matt Morgan vs. Crimson & Matt Morgan

While they have been teasing a possible heel turn by Crimson, I don’t see that happening. Joe and Magnus have really surprised me when it comes to their team and run as champions. I never would have thought they were going to be a good team, but it just works. They retain the titles and Morgan turns on Crimson to set up their showdown inside a cage next month.

Grudge Match:
Bully Ray vs. James Storm

Ir wouldn’t make sense for Storm to lose on pay per view one month away from his big title match against Bobby Roode at Lockdown. I’m sure this will be a solid match but Storm walks out the winner here.

Mr. Anderson & AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian
For some reason I feel like Daniels and Kazarian are going to continue to have Styles number. I don’t think Styles will be pinned, that will probably happen to Anderson. So, I’m just going to go with Daniels and Kazarian. I’d imagine Styles will wrestle Kazarian inside a cage next month. Personally, this match doesn’t interest me all that much either.

Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy
This could be a fabulous match if they are both on the top of their game. Hardy has had a rough streak on pay per view and that’s probably hurting him with the fans. I’ve liked the angle and how they have progressed everything. I’m going to go with Hardy wins here but is attacked by Angle afterward to continue their issue.

No Holds Barred:
TNA World Champion Bobby Roode vs. Sting

If Sting wins this match, I will not understand it in the slightest. Roode should win this one and give both himself and Storm a lot of momentum going into Lockdown. The stipulation allows Roode to do whatever it may take to keep Sting down and I think he will do just that. I’m being optimistic that this one will be an enjoyable brawl.

So, those are my picks for the show. Feel free to leave any predictions you may have as well. Enjoy the show!
