World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date: 3/13/1993
From: Long Beach, CA
Matches:
1.)Papa Shango defeated Mark Ming
2.)The Nasty Boys defeated Unknowns
3.)Yokozuna defeated Casey Cleric
4.)Tatanka defeated Al Burke
5.)Lex Luger defeated Joey Maggs
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. So, the Nasty Boys are being considered the nicest guys in the WWF because they let Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake get their shot against Money Inc. I’m not sure if nicest is the right word, or they are the dumbest guys to give up their spot on the biggest show of the year.
2. Ray Rougeau interviewed Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji after their squash match. Rougeau doesn’t believe that Yoko will dominate WWF World Champion Bret Hart at WrestleMania. Fuji thinks they will be calling Bret Hart the Squash Man! Yokozuna attacks the jobber some more after the match when Rougeau wants them to show Bret respect. Yokozuna hits another Bonzai Drop. Fuji is confident that Yokozuna will be the WWF World Champion at WrestleMania IX!
3. After Tatanka wins his match, the Giant Gonzalez made his way down to the ring. Tatanka bailed and simply went to the back while Harvey Wippleman grabbed a microphone. Wippleman says he is here to inform us all that Gonzalez was scheduled to wrestle thirty people tonight but they all ran in fear. He claims that the Undertaker is afraid of Gonzalez as well. Gonzalez says when he finds the Undertaker he will bury him!
Final Thoughts:
They are really building Yokozuna up as an unstoppable force and making Bret Hart look like the underdog. I’ve liked the build for it thus far, but it’s really just standard buildup. Aside from that, there wasn’t much of anything all that interesting taking place on this show. Thus, I’m giving it a thumbs down.
Thanks for reading.
