TNA No Surrender 2012 Predictions!

TNA returns to pay per view this Sunday with No Surrender taking place on September 9th. The card for the event wasn’t even announced until Thursday evening, so there may not be a whole lot of interest in this one. Here is the card for the event along with my predictions.

For the TNA Knockouts Championship:
[champion] Miss Tessmacher defends against Tara

Am I suppose to care about this match? The last I knew was that Tara was a mentor to Tessmacher and I’m sure that’s the angle they are going with here. I’m guessing that the student will overcome the teacher and Tessmacher continues her reign.

For the TNA X-Division Championship:
[champion] Zema Ion defends against Sonjay Dutt

I could’ve sworn I read that Sonjay wasn’t going to come back to TNA. Considering he has been working house show and is now getting a pay per view match, I’m inclined to believe that Sonjay is back on the payroll for TNA. His return will come to a halt as I see Zema managing to walk out with the championship.

Rob Van Dam vs. Magnus
So, this was set up on Impact right before the pay per view. Magnus calling RVD out for being old essentially has me thinking that RVD will prevail in this bout and prove that he still has what it takes to compete. But, I have a stronger feeling that Magnus needs a big win to get some momentum for a match with Samoa Joe at BFG (I assume). Thus, I’m going to pick Magnus to get an enormous and meaningful victory.

For the TNA World Tag Team Championships:
[champions] Daniels & Kazarian defend against AJ Styles & Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle is injured and it’s unknown whether or not he will be competing at No Surrender. If Angle can compete this would obviously be a good match, although repetitive. I would try to guess who Styles could get to replace him (Abyss?) but I’d never get it right. Considering this is probably the end of the feud, or at least I hope it is, I’m going to pick Styles and whomever his partner is to win the titles.

Bound For Glory Semifinal #1:
Bully Ray vs. James Storm

First off, let me say I’m very happy to see that Bully Ray has signed a new deal with TNA. The guy is incredibly entertaining and a big part to TNA on the heel side of things. Now, I think James Storm is set to win this match and get to the finals. Storm has been battling back since losing to Roode at Lockdown. Besides, Ray could have a match with a returning Abyss at BFG or something. Storm gets the victory here.

Bound For Glory Semifinal #2:
Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe

I wish I could predict Joe to win this match, but I don’t see it happening. It’s Jeff Hardy, after all. This should be a really good match, but Hardy, who is the top draw in TNA, should be able to reach the finals. This tournament has greatly helped Joe and should be able to remain in the uppercard following the conclusion of it all, though.

Bound For Glory Finals:
James Storm vs. Jeff Hardy

Yeah, this is a rather strong match on a show that has had zero build for the matches. So, I feel that TNA would have to give the fans this match to make the purchase of the event seem like a good idea. I don’t see Storm winning the BFG. If Bobby Roode was the champion, then yes, Storm would’ve won this. But, I think there is money to be made with an Aries/Hardy BFG main event. The idea of that may mean that Aries would turn heel, but hell, Aries is great at either role. If he has to turn heel to make an entertaining feud with Hardy, so be it. Where does that leave Storm? Well, he can have a match with Bobby Roode at the event. That right there is two strong matches for BFG if you ask me.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries vs. Aces & Eights Member
Either Aries wins this straight up, or there is some kind of massive brawl or angle that is developed to close the show. I feel like the member will be unmasked, but I hope they hold off on revealing the group for BFG. I don’t have much interest in this since we don’t know the opponent for Aries. This shouldn’t be a great match but more of just an angle advancement. I’m not sure how I feel about wasting a PPV on an angle advancement.

Those are my predictions for No Surrender this Sunday. Feel free to share your own.

Thanks for reading.

  1. 2012 No Surrender Predictions
World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries challenges anyone from Aces & Eight

Whoever accepts Aries challenge is bound to get his ass whooped that’s all I know! Hoping for a sweet surprise in this one.
Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe

Although I could see Hardy winning and going on to the finals possible proving he deserved it after his little problem before, I think Samoa Joe will move on tot he finals.
Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Bully Ray vs. James Storm

I think James Storm is an obvious choice here and that is why I think and want Bully Ray to get the win and move on to the finals.
The Bound For Glory Series Final: TBD vs. TBD

My finals I have Samoa Joe vs. Bully Ray so I could see it going both ways. Samoa Joe and Aries had possibly the best match of the night at Slammiversary, why not Main Event the big one? Plus Joe deserves it. But Bully Ray on the other hand has come a very long way in TNA, he just signed a new contract and I see big things for him, could it be now?
Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles & Kurt Angle vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian

I think Kaz & Daniels will retain, mostly because Angle did just get injured, and let’s be serious, they are the best team right now.
    Magnus vs. Rob Van Dam

I am going with Magnus for this one, hoping this boosts him up more, he’s a great talent.
X Division Championship: Sonjay Dutt vs. Zema Ion

Since this match had no real hype I think Ion will retain, although they do like throwing curve balls at times, so we could get a nice surprise.
Knockouts Championship: Tara vs. Miss Tessmacher

Really hoping Tara can get the win here, I want her on TV more and as champion.
