WWF Superstars 4/22/1995

Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date:
4/22/1995
From: Glenn Falls, NY

Matches:
1.) WWF World Tag Team Champions Yokozuna & Owen Hart defeated John Crystal & Leroy Howard
2.) Razor Ramon defeated Mark Starr
3.) Kama defeated Tony Roy
4.) WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett defeated Aldo Montoya to retain the title
5.) Duke Droese defeated Roy Raymond

Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Backstage, WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett chats with Vince McMahon about his match with Aldo Montoya later on in the show. Jarrett tells us that his confidence level is at the tip top and is sure he will win tonight against Aldo.

2. Aldo starts off with a quick arm drag after the champ decided to taunt the fans previously. Montoya keeps a very basic move set on Double J. Jarrett drops Aldo guy first to the canvas and follows up with a dropkick. Aldo misses a cross body off the middle rope. Jarrett hits a swinging neck breaker but continues to not go for a cover. Jeff plants Montoya with a dumping DDT but only gets a near fall on the cover. Each time Jarrett goes for a cover he does so with a cocky attitude and can’t get a three count. Jeff accidentally knee lifts Roadie off the apron and Aldo begins to make his babyface comeback. Roadie trips Montoya while the referee was out of position. Razor Ramon comes out and chases Roadie to the backstage area. Aldo tries a few rollups but Jarrett kicks out. Aldo misses a middle rope bulldog and Double J locks in the figure four to win the match. (*1/2. Another basic match between these two. Aldo doesn’t have the offense it takes to put together entertaining offense. That’s the end of this brief TV feud, folks.)

3. Another vignette promoting the debut of Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Hunter says “hello, it’s just you.” That’s the end of the segment.

Final Thoughts:
Another average episode of Superstars. There aren’t big feature matches on the program as of late, but soon that will change.

Thanks for reading.
