World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date:
5/6/1995
From: Des Moines, IA

Matches
1.) WWF World Tag Team Champions Yokozuna & Owen Hart defeated The New Headshrinkers to retain the titles
2.) Adam Bomb defeated Rock Werner
3.) Bertha Faye defeated Jessica Rivera
4.) Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Sonny Rogers
5.) Tatanka defeated Kevin Kruger
6.) The Undertaker defeated Dave Sigfrid

Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Owen attacks Fatu prior to the bell but his advantage doesn’t last all that long as Fatu nearly wins after a snap power slam. Fatu delivers a head butt to the lower midsection of Owen and that brings in Yokozuna. Sionne tags in as well. Sionne yanks Yoko down to the canvas by the hair and big boots Yoko to the floor! Sionne gets double teamed by the champs. Sionne hits a back breaker on Owen and the challengers hit a double backdrop on Owen! Owen misses Fatu and knocks Yoko off the apron. Yoko trips Fatu and that allows Owen to jump across Fatu’s back on the middle rope. Yoko and Sionne get tags and Sionne gets the better of Yoko. Yoko gets knocked down following a double clothesline by the challengers. Sionne press slams Owen to the canvas and delivers a big boot. Owen is out in the middle of the ring. Fatu hits a top rope big splash but the referee is distracted. Yoko leg drops Fatu and Fatu getshis head tied up in the ropes. Yokozuna splashes Sionne in the corner and hits the Bonzai Drop off the bottom rope for the win. (**1/4. So, Yokozuna is so overweight that he can only get to the bottom rope for his finishing move. Yikes. It was a good match and the Headshrinkers gave us a competitive match. Yokozuna has really fallen down the ranks as midcard workers are able to knock him off his feet nowadays.)

2. Hunter Hearst Helmsley made his debut in the WWF on the program. His finishing move was an ace crusher.

3. A vignette promoting Skip and Sunny is aired. They are fitness people who make fun of overweight fans and wrestlers. The promo was done as if it were an infomercial.

4. Next week, WWF World Champion Diesel defends against Henry Godwinn.

Final Thoughts:
An enjoyable show this week as the WWF continues to bring in younger talent with Hunter arriving and now with Skip and Sunny on their way. The feature match was a quality bout as well. Can’t go wrong with an episode like this one.

Thanks for reading.
