Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Harvey Wippleman cut a promo on Tito Santana saying that Mr. Hughes will destroy him just like he did to the Undertaker. Their match kicked off the show. Hughes scoop slams Santana but misses an elbow drop. Santana arm drags Hughes after he ran the ropes but doesn’t follow up on the advantage. Hughes drops Tito with a big boot but can’t put him away. Santana makes a comeback and comes off the top to hit a cross body but Hughes rolls through and gets the pin on Tito!
2. Gorilla Monsoon tells us that the Steiner Brothers defeated WWF World Tag Team Champions Money Inc. on June 14th. However, two days later Money Inc. won them back. But guess what, the Steiner Brothers regained the titles on June 19th to make themselves two-time tag team champions! We hear from the champions and they say they are going to hold onto the belts for a long time.
3. WWF World Champion Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji cut a promo regarding the July 4th slam challenge. Fuji says that all wrestlers in the WWF and all professional athletes are allowed to enter but they must be American. They want to make everyone look like fools. Yokozuna speaks English and says that all Americans are weak!
4. Crush cut a promo about entering the challenge made by Yokozuna. Crush believes he will be the guy to slam Yokozuna.
5. This week on Face to Face, Jim Duggan and WWF World Champion Yokozuna trade words. They will be competing in a lumberjack match. Duggan believes that he had Yoko beaten last time they wrestled but Mr. Fuji got involved. Jim isn’t afraid of Yokozuna and says he has a 2×4 to take care of Fuji.
6. It’s time for the rematch from last week between Booger and Virgil. Booger is able to get some level of revenge after hitting a middle rope big splash to pin Virgil.
7. Bam-Bam Bigelow comes out for a special interview with Boni. Bigelow believes that everyone knows that he is the best wrestler in the WWF today. Bigelow reveals he has another side of him and says he has a heart. In his heart he has feelings. He is also a sensitive guy. Bigelow has fallen in love! He has found someone he is madly in love with. He brings out his main squeeze, Luna Vachon! Vachon and Bigelow put each other over by saying they are attractive and whatnot.
8. To close the show we have another Face to Face segment between Money Inc. and WWF World Tag Team Champions Steiner Brothers. Ted DiBiase tells us that the Steiner Brothers will become the shortest lived champions in WWF history. The champs say that Money Inc. suffered the same fate as the other teams. It was a rather quick segment.
Final Thoughts:
An average episode of WWF Superstars this week. There weren’t any good matches this week, but the interviews were okay. I like the pairing of Bigelow and Vachon. It’s just a perfect combination to me. Nothing special of an episode here but there was a little quality to it.
Thanks for reading.
