World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date: 3/12/1988
From: Wichita, KS
Matches:
1.)The Ultimate Warrior defeated Tom Stone
2.)Jim Duggan defeated Barry Horowitz
3.)Bad News Brown defeated Lance Allen
4.)Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Brian Costello
5.)Dino Bravo defeated Johnny Steward
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. This is Bruno Sammartino’s last appearance as a commentator for the WWF and wouldn’t be part of the company again until February 2013.
2. Craig DeGeorge highlights the feud between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant over the WWF World Championship over the past year. Craig also notes Ted DiBiase involvement as he wanted to buy the championship but Jack Tunney prevented that from happening.
3. Craig DeGeorge conducted an interview with Ted DiBiase, Andre the Giant and Virgil. Andre says that he has beaten Hogan three times already and he will beat him a fourth time at WrestleMania IV. DiBiase believes everyone knows he was ripped off and Jack Tunney rewrote the rule book. Ted is happy that Hulk Hogan isn’t the champion right now. DiBiase will be wrestling Jim Duggan in the first round. DiBiase calls Duggan an idiot who can’t find his way to the ring. If DiBiase and Andre where to meet in the second round, Andre would take the fall to allow DiBiase to advance! Money talks, folks!
4. There were several short promos by men involved in the Mania tournament, but they were rather basic and there isn’t much sense in repeating them over and over.
Final Thoughts:
A simple episode this week that continued to promote the Mania show. Just an average showing this week. The last show of the taping typically don’t feature anything of importance it seems like, as well.
Thanks for reading.
