Written by: Bob Colling
World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date: 5/7/1988
From: New Haven, CT
Matches:
1.)Strike Force defeated Terry Gibbs & Ron Rovishod
2.)Bret Hart defeated Van Van Horne
3.)One Man Gang defeated Reno Riggins
4.)Jake Roberts defeated Scott Colotonio
5.)Ted DiBiase defeated Bill Woods
6.)Islanders & High Chief Afi defeated Outback Jack, Brady Boone & Steve Blackman
7.)WWF Intercontinental Champion Honkytonk Man defeated Hillbilly Jim
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Bad News Brown cuts a promo telling Bret Hart that he is undefeated. He is tough enough to beat them one on one and Bret Hart will get to know how bad he is when they meet one on one.
2. Craig DeGeorge conducted an interview with WWF World Champion Randy Savage. DiBiase is still in the ring with Virgil. Savage tells DiBiase that he is going to have to earn the championship and not pay for it. Savage tells Ted that he has the time to show him that DiBiase isn’t in the same ballpark. DiBiase comes over to the podium but doesn’t attack or anything. The crowd is going nuts for Savage!
3. Jim locks Honky in a bear hug but can’t keep the hold locked in for a long period of time. Honky avoids Jim in the corner and rolls Jim up with a handful of overalls to win the match.
4. Next week, Hulk Hogan squares off against Boris Zhukov! Hogan is confident that he will defend the honor of USA against Boris!
Final Thoughts:
Well, that was another uneventful episode of Superstars. At least next week Hogan will be on the show.
