Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents RAW
Date:
12/4/1995
From: Richmond, VA

Matches:
1.) Davey Boy Smith defeated Bob Holly
2.) Fatu defeated The Brooklyn Brawler
3.) WWF Intercontinental Champion Razor Ramon defeated Dean Douglas to retain the title
4.) Marty Jannetty fought Psycho Sid to a no contest

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Smith casually shoves Holly down to start the opener. Holly comes back with a hip toss, scoop slam and a couple of clotheslines to send Smith to the floor. Holly hits a power slam and nearly pins Smith but returns to working over Davey’s arm. Smith press slams Holly and drops him groin first across the top rope. Holly nearly gets a three with an inside cradle but gets ran over by Smith with a clothesline. Smith drives Holly down to the canvas with a delayed vertical suplex for a two count. Smith cuts Holly off with a knee lift to the midsection. Smith scoop slams Holly and drops a leg across Bob’s chest. Holly nails Smith with a dropkick. Holly hits another dropkick but Smith kicks out. Smith catches Holly in the corner and hits a running power slam out of the corner to win the match. (*1/2. A basic match with the usual underdog story being told with Holly. There was nothing overly great or memorable about this one.)

2.) Jerry Lawler is set to interview Bob Backlund regarding his attack on Bret Hart last week and an attack on Jim Ross. Lawler says that Backlund will wrestle Bret Hart in a non-title match next week. Backlund is pissed that the match in non-title. Backlund had dreams of being God again so he could reign supreme over everyone else. Bob says that we need more role models. He continues to ramble as they need to go to commercial.

3.) Douglas attacks Ramon from behind before the bell and tries to hit Razor with the championship but the referee yanks it away. Dean hammers away on Ramon with several jabs and ducks a clothesline. Ramon catches Douglas and hits a fall away slam. Ramon charges and clotheslines Douglas over the top to the floor. Ramon hip tosses Douglas and works on the left arm. Razor has “Shawn” written on his boot to support HBK. Dean boots a charging Ramon and leaps off the middle rope to hit a bulldog. Douglas hits a springboard splash off the middle rope as we go to commercial. Dean has an abdominal stretch on Ramon but is using the ropes, which the referee sees. Ramon gets the same hold locked in on Douglas for a few moments, but Dean hip tosses out of the hold. Dean hits a top rope cross body, but Ramon rolls through for a near fall. Ramon decks Douglas with a clothesline and signals for the end. Ramon plants Douglas with the Razors Edge and gets the clean victory. (*. Well, that pretty much signifies the end of Dean Douglas in the WWF. They kept a good pace, but it was clear that they weren’t interested in keeping Douglas overly strong.)

4.) Brother Love is set for another interview with his guest this week being King Mabel. Mabel is carried out by a few enhancement talents on a throne. Mabel has the gold chain around his neck that was once Undertaker’s urn. Mabel says that he is missing Sir Mo, not that it is any of Brother’s love. Mabel will be wrestling the Undertaker in a casket match at the next In Your House. Mabel is taking credit for the first pin fall over Taker and taking him out of action, which is not true. Mabel doesn’t like surprises. Brother Love introduces a casket being pushed by a druid as a surprise for King Mabel. Um, the druid gets on the apron and it is revealed to be King Mo. They yank off black tarp off of the casket and it has the Undertaker X’d out with RIP on it and MOM on it as well. Mabel says there will be no love at In Your House but rather pure hate!

5.) Backstage, Razor Ramon tells Marty Jannetty that he has his back tonight when he squares off against Psycho Sid.

6.) Marty goes right at Sid with several right hands and a leaping cross body before ramming the back of Sid’s head into the canvas. Sid catches Marty on a cross body attempt and slams Jannetty to the canvas. Sid taunts Jannetty but is met with a right hand. Sid slams Marty face first into the mat. Sid works over Marty with strikes in the corner. Marty big boots Sid in the corner and follows up with a bulldog. Jannetty hits a fist drop but can’t get a three count. Back from commercial, Sid runs over Marty with a clothesline that turns Jannetty inside out. Sid delivers another clothesline for a near fall. Marty blocks a few strikes but is sent over the top to the floor. On the floor, DiBiase attacks Jannetty while the referee is distracted. The 1-2-3 Kid runs out and attacks Marty from behind. Razor Ramon runs out to chase Kid into the ring. Ramon punches Sid to the floor and chases Kid into the crowd. Kid runs to the backstage area. Back in the ring, Sid kicks Marty and hits the power bomb! Sid taunts the fans while standing on the middle rope. (*1/2. A basic match that wasn’t too bad. The fans enjoyed the aftermath more so than they liked the actual contest.)

7.) Todd Pettengill recently went to Shawn Michaels doctors office to get an update on what happened. The doctor was terrified for Shawn after watching RAW with his wife (yeah, right). The doctor says that millions of people suffer from post concussion syndrome. That’s what happened with Shawn Michaels. The doctor says that Shawn Michaels could be out for a longer period of time that was anticipated. He isn’t sure when Michaels could come back. He would have to 100% sure that Michaels wouldn’t re-injure himself. The doctor says that Shawn has some brain damage and that any more damage could be life threatening. The doctor states that it may not be a good idea that Michaels ever return to action.

Final Thoughts:
Three feature matches that provided some average wrestling at best. The segment with King Mabel was nothing new or exciting. The Undertaker needs to be used in a better way, honestly. I’ll give the show a mild thumbs up.

Thanks for reading.
