Rebooking 2CW: Show #1 2006

Squared Circle Wrestling was a local promotion here in Syracuse, NY that ran in Syracuse, Binghamton, Rochester, Oswego, Watertown, Elmira, Roma, Utica, Ithaca, Auburn, and Amsterdam. They had shows from April 2006 to December 2015. You’ll see on the site that I’ve reviewed several of their shows. Well, to go along with my Rebooking of WWF series, I’ve decided to publish my rebooking of 2CW. I figured it could be fun to do this and see what could develop. With this project, I’ll be keeping it fairly believable. If a wrestler is available to be used, they are fair game. You will not see contracted WWE guys randomly appearing. If someone I’m using got signed in real life, that would apply to what I’m doing. So, it could get interested if I’m not paying attention. Some guys will be brought in sooner than they originally came into the company. Instead of beginning in April 2006, I’ll begin in January. Hope you enjoy the series. Read more

Exclusive Interview: “Hybrid” Sean Carr

“Hybrid” Sean Carr has been rising up the ranks on the independent level since his wrestling debut in 2013. He’s competed for the likes of 2CW, CZW and ROH, to name a few. Recently, I reached out to Sean for an interview and he was kind enough to agree. Thus, here’s an interview with the “Hybrid” and I hope you enjoy it. Read more

You Should Know The Name… Sean Carr

Awhile back I wrote an article… You Should Know The Name… Colin Delaney, and it was met with great feedback and several people telling me they were completely unaware of what Delaney had accomplished since his WWE run nearly a decade ago. This time around, I’m going to suggest all wrestling fans get familiar with a guy who has yet to make a splash nationally, and that man is “Hybrid” Sean Carr. Read more

A Night At The Matches: WWE vs. 2CW

Last night, I attended two wrestling shows with a few friends of mine. The first show was a World Wrestling Entertainment house show at the War Memorial in Syracuse, New York, which started at 5pm. The second event was a show put on by a local company, Squared Circle Wrestling (2CW), which took place at 8pm. I thought it would be interesting to compare to the two shows since in recent months there has been a “us vs. them” mentality from independent companies towards the WWE.

For those unaware about 2CW, they are based out of Syracuse and have ran most of their shows in the Upstate New York area since 2006. They have used plenty of top names and have a pretty good local talent including guys like Colin Delaney, Jay Freddie, Sean Carr, Brute Van Slyke, Kevin Graham and Nick Ando. Read more

You Should Know The Name… Colin Delaney

In December 2007, Colin Delaney made his debut for World Wrestling Entertainment in a losing effort against Shelton Benjamin. For roughly the next eight months, Delaney competed on the ECW brand and would regularly lose to guys like Great Khali, Miz, John Morrison and others. By the summer of 2008, Delaney would turn heel and cost Tommy Dreamer the ECW Championship, but wouldn’t be pushed heavily and was released by the WWE in August of 2008.

I’m sure many people forgot all about that and never think about it, which is understandable. There may be people reading this today that have no idea who the hell Colin Delaney is. If that’s the case, well, it is time you know just what Colin Delaney is all about and what you’ve missed. Read more

Yearly Review: 2CW 2008

The third year of existence for Squared Circle Wrestling would see a heated feud between 2CW and NWA Upstate take place, an ECW icon falling asleep in the ring, and a heated feud over the 2CW Heavyweight Championship throughout the year between Slyck Wagner Brown and Jimmy Olsen. Read more
