Highlights from last week when Shawn Michaels attacked Razor Ramon. 1-2-3 Kid making the save for his friend Razor Ramon is also shown. This to hype up Shawn Michaels taking on the 1-2-3 Kid later on the show.

Shawn Michaels cuts a brief promo saying that he is the real WWF Intercontinental Champion. Michaels also says that the short lived career of the 1-2-3 Kid will be coming to an abrupt end tonight.

RAW Opening Video

Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan hype up what is going to be happening tonight. More Kid/Michaels hype. Vince and Bobby argue over who is the real WWF Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Michaels or Razor Ramon.

Opening Contest: Shawn Michaels fought 1-2-3 Kid to a double count-out: Kid with a few impressive kicks early on knocking Michaels through the middle rope to the floor. Kid springboards off the middle rope and connects with a cross body over the top to the floor. Kid continues with a German suplex for near fall. Michaels manages to reverse a headlock into a back suplex. Michaels with a head scissors and sends Kid to the floor. Kid sends Michaels into the ring post arm first. Kid runs off the apron and Michaels catches him and connects with a power slam on the floor. Michaels with two back breakers and sends Kid hard back first into the corner. Kid leaps off the top looking for a cross body, but Michaels manages to dropkick Kid in the midsection for a near fall. Kid ducks a clothesline and connects with a spinning heel kick. Kid with a running spin kick in the corner and Michaels staggers out of the corner. Top rope moonsault by Kid for a near fall. Kid misses a somersault splash. Michaels connects with a super kick. Michaels taunts Ramon and signals for the Razor’s Edge. Michaels connects with the Razor’s Edge but pulls Kid up on the pin attempt. Michaels connects with a second Razor’s Edge and this brings Ramon out. Ramon saves Kid from suffering a third Razor’s Edge. Michaels slaps Ramon, Ramon chases Michaels around the ring. Michaels runs to the backstage area but trips. Diesel is on the other side of the apron and nails Ramon with a right hand. Michaels chokes Ramon with his own shirt. Michaels connects with the Razor’s Edge on Ramon on the concrete floor. Michaels connects with another Razor’s Edge on the floor. This causes both Kid and Michaels to be counted out. **1/2

Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan talk about what just happened with Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels. Vince is upset about happened. Bobby says that Ramon is acting as a fake WWF Intercontinental Champion.

Second Contest: WWF World Tag Team Champions The Quebecers defeated Mike Walsh/Bert Centano: Jacque plants Centano with a pile driver late in the match. Moments later, Pierre connects with a Swanton Bomb and it is over.
After the match, the Quebecers place Walsh onto a chair and Pierre clotheslines Walsh out of the chair.

Vince and Bobby hype up the Royal Rumble which is taking place on the 22nd of January.

Vince McMahon talks with Owen Hart who is backstage. Owen asks “what about me?” sine he has had Bret Hart’s back since day one. Owen will be having a surprise of his own, so that people will be talking about him.

Third Contest: Doink defeated Tony DeVito: Throughout the match, Dink is on the apron playing with some sort of horn. Doink with a lot of mat wrestling and various submission holds. Doink with a belly to belly suplex. Doink connects with the Whoopee Cushion to pick up the win.

Jeff Jarrett is back with another promo. Jarrett talks to some guy who hasn’t gotten his break in the country music business. Jarrett continues to say that he will be using the WWF as his platform. Jarrett is kind enough to have some other guy next to him give the guy a dollar.

A video promoting the Crush/Savage feud is shown. Randy Savage will be back next week to face Fatu.

Main Event: Crush defeated Tony Roy: Randy Savage calls in during the match. Savage is happy to be back wrestling in the WWF. Crush dominates Roy, connecting with a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Crush with a gorilla press slam and drops Roy across the top rope and picks up the win.

Next week on RAW. Undertaker will be interviewed, Adam Bomb will be in action and so will the Smoking Gunns.

Gorilla Monsoon makes his way down to the ring and Heenan looks fairly scared. Gorilla has some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Heenan is going on a free trip. The bad news is that Heenan has been FIRED. Gorilla brings Heenan to the backstage area and literally throws Heenan out of the door.

My Take: 1-2-3 Kid/Shawn Michaels was a pretty good contest for RAW. Like the idea of a program between Michaels/Ramon over the WWF Intercontinental Championship considering Michaels never lost the championship. Sad to see Bobby Heenan be written off television by being fired by Monsoon. Heenan brought humor and entertainment to a sometimes boring broadcast.
